Suno’s New AI Music Update Is Wild: Here’s What’s New in v4.5
Suno just dropped a major update to its AI music generator, and it's a pretty big leap. The new v4.5 model improves everything from vocal emotion to track length, giving creators more flexibility and better results—especially if you're into genre-mashing or long-form music.
What’s new?
- Better vocals: Now you can generate anything from soft, intimate singing to powerful belting—with vibrato and all.
- Longer songs: Max track length doubled—from 4 minutes to 8.
- Smarter prompts: A new helper guides you to write better prompts, making your ideas easier to turn into actual music.
- Mashup magic: Want to blend midwest emo with neosoul? Or EDM with folk? Go for it.
- Improved quality: Audio is clearer and more balanced from start to finish—no more weird shimmer or glitchy fade-outs.
- Genre-swapping covers: The Covers and Personas tools now let you flip a song’s style completely (e.g., turn a rock tune into house).
These upgrades are only available to paid users (starting at $8/month), while free users are still limited to the older v4.0 or v3.5 models.
A bit of context
Suno’s making waves in AI music, but it hasn’t all been smooth. They've been hit with lawsuits over copyright issues and accused of training their models on copyrighted songs without permission. Still, that didn’t stop Amazon from teaming up with them to power parts of its next-gen Alexa assistant.
