Suno v4.5 expanded what paid users could generate, with longer tracks, more expressive vocals, better prompt assistance, and stronger style controls. The update was aimed at giving creators more range without changing the basic prompt-to-song workflow.
Longer tracks and stronger vocals
The maximum track length doubled from 4 minutes to 8 minutes. Suno also described improved vocal generation, including softer singing, stronger belting, and vibrato.
Audio quality was also presented as more consistent, with fewer problems such as shimmer or glitchy endings.
Prompting and style controls improved
The update added a prompt helper and expanded the Covers and Personas tools. Users could also push further into genre combinations, including blends such as midwest emo with neosoul or EDM with folk.
The main changes described in the source were the following.
- More expressive vocals
- Eight-minute maximum songs
- Prompt assistance
- Better genre blending
- Improved audio consistency
- More flexible Covers and Personas
These features were available to paid users starting at $8 per month, while free users remained on older models at the time.
Suno was growing amid copyright disputes
The release arrived while Suno was facing lawsuits alleging that copyrighted songs had been used for model training without permission.
At the same time, Music Business Worldwide reported on Suno's relationship with Amazon around parts of its next-generation Alexa assistant.
The update therefore showed both sides of Suno's position at the time. Product development was moving quickly while legal pressure over AI training continued.
