UDIO and Universal Music Group Partner to Launch a New Era of AI-Artist Collaboration

AI music company UDIO has officially announced a historic partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG) — marking one of the biggest shifts yet in how AI tools and human artists collaborate.

According to Andrew Sanchez, CEO of UDIO, the partnership will bring real artists, songwriters, and their catalogs into the creative process, allowing fans to remix, reimagine, and create new music directly inspired by their favorite musicians.

“We will be working closely with their extraordinary artists, songwriters and catalog to help bring your favorite music onto the platform while providing artists with control over how AI is used,” Sanchez explained in [UDIO’s official blog post](text).

1. Create with an artist’s voice and style: Artists can set permissions for how their sound is used in AI creation.
2. Remix and reimagine popular songs: Users will be able to transform existing tracks across genres or merge them into new creative blends.
3. AI mashups: Combine styles and sounds from multiple artists to create entirely new musical experiences.

While downloads are temporarily unavailable during the transition, UDIO has compensated paid users with +1,200 monthly credits, +1,000 non-expiring bonus credits, and expanded song creation limits.
